Fun facts
This mangrove is the most tolerant of seawater.
Its leaves are usually covered with dust or salt cristals, because they have glands that eliminate the excess salt from the water it absorbs.
General aspects
Despite its name, it is of a light color, with leaves of a pale gray on its underside and brilliant grey on the front side. Its arched roots are used to breathe, while exposed during the low tide.
Its flowers are white or yellow, and bloom especially during the rainy season.
It can survive in waters without oxygen, in muddy or flooded areas.
