Of the 12 Centropomus species that exist in the world, all are found in Mexico: 6 in the Atlantic and 6 in the Pacific.
In the Southwest region of the Gulf of California, they like to feed mainly on shrimp.
General aspects
It is a silver-colored fish with a noticeable dark lateral stripe, elongated and compressed body, with yellow anal and pelvic fins.
It lives in bays, estuaries and freshwater streams.
It feeds on fish, crustaceans and mollusks.
