Fun facts
It is vegetarian. It eats seasonal algae. As an herbivore, its intestine is longer than carnivore fish, and its stomach is muscular, like a gizzard.
It behaves diplomatically: it uses its stemmed spine to slap other fish, in order to resolve territorial matters.
General aspects
This compressed, oval-shaped fish has its eyes positioned high on its head. It is grey in color, with small black specks and a bright yellow tail.
It can be found in shallow reefs, in schools (groups of fish).
It feeds on algae found on rocks.
