It is a sequential hermaphrodite fish, meaning, it is first a female, then it transforms itself into a male.
General aspects
It´s a robust, reddish-brown fish, covered in white, irregular specks. It has a characteristic black marking on the base of its caudal fin, which runs onto its sides.
It lives in rocky zones of coastal waters.
During the day it feeds on small fish, and on crustaceans during the night.
