Fun facts
It has light sensory structures (Rophalia and Statocysts) that allows it to perceive if it is approaching the water´s surface or the depths of the sea.
When if feels threatened, it secretes a toxic mucus that harms small fish and drives predators away.
It is often caught in Northern Sinaloa.
General aspects
This Jellyfish can be blue or grey, in Pacific waters. It has 16 white, short and branched oral arms.
It feeds on fish larvae, crustaceans, mollusks and fish eggs.
