Cancer crab juveniles associate with this Jellyfish, since they feed on the parasites that harm it, and sometimes even live in it.
The Jellyfish´s bell pulsates to impulse its movement in short distances. But to further advance, it takes advantage of marine currents.
General aspects
Adults are silvery-white, with dark purple stripes. Juvenile Jellyfish are pink, with dark red tentacles. All have four spiral-shaped oral arms.
It can grow to be a little over 3 feet in diameter.
It feeds on zooplankton.
