It is the largest Snapper on the Pacific.
General aspects
Its snout is pointy. Its backside and sides are of a dark olive brown to a copper red, with ash brown and silvery-white stripes on its abdomen.
Adults live in rocky reefs; juveniles live in estuaries with mangroves and river mouths.
It feeds on large invertebrates and fish.
