General aspects
It is of a pale red or pink, to a yellowish-silver color, with greenish-gold to brown stripes. It has a distinctive black or grayish mark on its backside.
Adults are found over hard seabeds in coastal reef zones, and juveniles live in estuaries and river mouths.
It feeds on invertebrates and fish.
