This species can survive on artificial materials such as granite, cement and steel.
It is an invasive species. It extended throughout the eastern Atlantic Ocean in 60 years.
They can grow in complete darkness, as long as they can capture enough food.
General aspects
Its colonies are either orange, red, bright yellow, pinkish-red, or pink. Its polyps usually spread during the night.
These corals do not form reefs, but may live close to them, on rocks, and even in cold waters.
