Fun facts
Its colonies are massive and play an important role in reef formation.
It is one of the most common corals on the Mexican Pacific coast.
General aspects
This coral is large, thick, encrusting, and is green, gray and brown in color. Its upper surface is almost flat, or with a varying degree of uneven waves, covered with large, distant and starry modules.
It lives on rocky seabeds in shallow, tropical waters.
It feeds on certain algae it associates with, and also captures some amount of plankton.
