Fun facts
It is one of the largest of almost 50 kown Seahorse species in the world.
It does not have teeth nor a stomach, and sucks-in its food, much like drinking from a straw.
The female deposits its eggs in the male´s incubator sac, where they remain until the little Seahorses are born.
General aspects
Its neck is curved, with its head almost at a right angle to its body, which is covered in bony rings.
It has an elongated snout with a crownlike structure on its head. Its color varies to camouflage itself in its environment.
It is most active during the night, and lives in coastal waters.
It feeds on zooplankton and crustaceans.
