What is a shoal?
As we know them, they are groups of fish that swim and move together.
Why are shoals formed?
The benefits of forming a group include: to defend theselves from predators, and to help find food and mating partners.
How do shoals find their way?
Besides counting on their sense of sight, they also have a sense in the form of an organ called Lateral Line, which allows them to detect changes in water pressure, vibrations, and movement in their surroundings like when a fish changes course or direction.
