Fun facts
It opens and closes its mouth constantly to breathe.
Its form, as well as its lack of fins or scales, make it agile enough to move rapidly through rocky crevices.
Morays have a 400% higher survival rate than any other fish, because they live in hiding among the rocks.
General aspects
It has a large head, short snout and pointy teeth. Its head is brown or yellowish-brown. Its round eyes are framed in a large, dark-brown ring, and the pores around its jaw are white.
It lives in rocky seabeds rich in crevices, and in reef habitats.
It feeds on fish and crustaceans such as crabs, lobsters and shrimp.
