Fun facts
It has four nostrils: the first two, external, are tubular in shape and are very useful to smell its prey.
It could grow up to 2.5 feet in length.
General aspects
Tubular, elongated, beige-colored body with oval black spots. Spotted throat and spine. Its tail measures over half of its body length. It does not have scales.
It feeds on shrimp, crabs, bristle worms, fish, and mollusks such as octopus and squid.
It lives in sandy and muddy seabeds, and is commonly seen seeking its prey under rocks or in crevices.
