Fun facts
It has a small venum apparatus to defend itself.
The female keeps the eggs in her body, the embroyos feed off the yolk, and later feed off their mother.
The female is twice as large as the male.
General aspects
This ray´s disc is wider than it is long. It is brown in color with pale black specks. Its tail is thin and extremely short. Its snout is short, its mouth is arched, its eyes and spiracle are on its back, and its back surface is smooth.
It lives in bays, canals and sandy or muddy estuaries.
It feeds on crustaceans and small fish.
