Fun facts
It has small thorns on its back, but is soft to the touch.
It’s the only guitar species with slate gray specks on its head and top part of its body, so it is easy to recognize.
General aspects
Its body is similar to a shark´s, and has a large, triangular-shaped head. They are brown with slate grey specks.
They swim near the bottom of the seabed and form large schools in coastal waters, over sandy and muddy areas.
Adults feed on squat lobsters and crabs. Juveniles prefer smaller crustaceans called scuds.
